El Mercado Verde
El Mercado Verde is a weekly farmers market hosted by local producers who showcase their many wonderful products that are made with love.
The market is open every Saturday from 11:00am – 3:00pm at Los Higuerones in Puerto Jimenez. It is an opportunity to purchase fresh produce and artisan products, thereby directly supporting the local community here in the Osa Peninsula. Enjoy the combination of shopping for fresh produce, art pieces, and Costa Rican food prepared on the fugón (wood fired stove) while connecting with current and new friends from the Osa and beyond.
The space serves multiple purposes, allowing producers to sell their products at a fair price to consumers or trade with one another. It also provides an opportunity for community members to offer live music, workshops, and events. By bringing together local community members alongside visitors to the Osa, the market offers a valuable opportunity for cross-cultural connection through food, music, and conversation.
