"I don’t need any more capacity building,

I need accompaniment."

- Don Gerardo, Farmer Palo Secco

A local tradition that connects community members and visitors to local farmers to help them with their farm work.

The project surfaced as a response to the disappearing knowledge about farming in diversity and the call of the local farmers for help. In 2024, this program was transferred to a young local group of women who are organising various Manos Cambiadas per year.

Manos Cambiadas has strenghtened the relationships among locals, and with visitors. It remembered a chapter in the story of the Osa Peninsula – where solidarity is seen as vital for a good life, and sharing hands means knowledge sharing, fun and nurturing their community and the land.
